Sick week

Our week was filled with various members of our family feeling sick, but life continued!

Studied hiaku

Finished reading Number the Stars

Continued studying Ancient China
focusing on Confucius and Inventions of China

E-R wrote a paper on the theory of evolution
I-E wrote about the eras of the earth
E wrote about Justinian, the emperor of Constantinople

Continued with spelling

E watched Tops Gameshow in French
this was very engaging and fun

E-R and I-E used their flashcards to review Spanish vocabulary

In art we learned about Cubism

In math, we continued with our geometry units.

New Fact of the Week
I didn't know that the Chinese invented toilet paper and kleenex several thousnd years ago!
What new fact did you learn this week?

  1. New Fact - Homer was writing the Odyssey while the Israelites were experiencing the Divided Kingdom. Too weird.

Sounds like you got quite a bit done even though everyone was sick. I'm laughing at the French gameshow. I took French in college and I think I would get a kick out of that also.

I see you are in CA. We are, too. Did you get all the rain from this last week?

  2. Daisy, I didn't realize both those things were going on at the same time. For some reason they seem so separate in my mind. This is one reason I love homeschooling--I'm learning so much myself! We did get all the rain--my dh is excited about all the snow in the mountains.

  3. Wow, you got a lot of stuff done for a sick week! I am too hungry at the moment to remember anything I learned this week. LOL! Waiting for dh to finish grilling.

  5. Fun blog Emily. You guys really are doing a ton. I still think about homeschooling again (about once a week) and I think you are great for doing it. The 'cheesy aliens' part in the previous post was very funny.

I think you personal reading goal is very ambitious and cool. Good luck! I love to read too and think it would be fun to read so many books.

It was nice to see you last night, thanks again for helping with the scouts yesterday!
