This week we don't have a lot of new stuff to list. We will be picking out a new poem. I'm sure the last poem, Fog by Carl Sandburg, was picked because of its shortness and ease of memorization! We will continue with our list of wars. We also continue on with learning the state capitals.
In Lyrical Life Science we are moving on to this book.
E will be taking biology next year in his first year of high school, and this book will introduce him to most of the terms he will learn about more in depth next year. This week covers the scientific method.
1)Ask a question
2)Gather information
3)Make a hypothesis
4)Experiment
5)Analyze Data
6)State a Conclusion
And that is all this week. The list of wars seem to be kicking our butts, so as not to spread us too thin, I am keeping it simple this week.
What are you up to in memory work this week?

I love this idea and that's exactly what we need to start doing! We are ending AWANA this week and the 2yo has spent the last 3 days sick so I'm taking a break from memory work:) But I have plans, big plans. I'll be back (bwahahaha!)
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that science book. I like how you're prepping for hs biology! We are actually working on the hymn In Christ Alone in honor of Easter.
ReplyDeleteOhhh...I've been interested in Lyrical Life Science as my kids love learning through music. Can you tell me more about what it is like?
