Art, Art, Art Everywhere--Our Visit to the Getty

known as just The Getty by the locals
Is Awesome!

Most of the awesomeness of the Getty is the building itself.

The grounds and gardens are also striking

From the floor to the heights of the ceiling

We love the Getty

Our two favorite pieces of art work

Specimen (After Durer)

Standing Women I

Standing Women I is one of my all time favorite sculptures.   The use of negative space just takes my breath away.

Which beautiful spaces have you visited lately?

  1. We love The Getty! I bet the weather was gorgeous.

  2. I also love the Getty. My mom's cousin, Robert Irwin, designed the gardens too! But my favorite is the Villa, I am a sucker for Greek and Roman mythology. :)

  3. Wow~Looks like SO much fun!!

    Visiting you from the HOP!

  4. Joyous--yes, Robert Irwin did design the beautiful gardens. The gardens are my favorite part of the Getty--so neat he is a cousin. I see also that you are just a stone throws away from me!

Daisy--did you get your parking passes?

  5. Miss Moe, just wanted to show some bloggy love and let you know I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger award, here is the link to the post on my site for the details

  6. Those pictures are beautiful! Wow! I want to go there! Let's see....what beautiful things have I seen lately??? A little toddler running around in dry underwear-yes-the potty training is successful and that is beautiful to me! Now, we can actually leave our house and go somewhere!

  7. Latasha,

thanks so much for the love. I feel honored.

  8. Lexi--that is a beautiful thing!

  9. Ooh I need to add this to the places to visit when we return to the states. I love art museums!! Everything looked so wonderful. Glad you had a great time! Thanks for linking up to the Let's Hit the road field trip hop:)

  10. Beautiful pictures! That looks like a great place.

  11. What magnificent photos! Absolutely beautiful. So glad you had a good time. I will definitely add the Getty to my wish list!

    Many blessings,

  12. This is so beautiful! Looks like you had lots of fun.
And I have to go with the first piece of art, having 3 boys and all...:)
