Memory Monday 10.8.2011

I feel like we are finally in the swing of things school-wise, and therefore memory time doesn't tend to get pushed to the side because we are struggling to fit it all in!

shared their family's experience with memorizing The Living Christ as a Christmas Project.  So we are using their awesome memory helps, to memorize this by Christmas.  This past week we memorized the first paragraph.

As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ two millennia ago, we offer our testimony of the reality of His matchless life and the infinite virtue of His great atoning sacrifice. None other has had so profound an influence upon all who have lived and will yet live upon the earth.

This week we will be memorizing this portion of the next paragraph.

He was the Great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New. Under the direction of His Father, He was the creator of the earth. "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made" (John 1:3).

We would love for you to join our family in bringing Christ into your home to prepare for Christmas this year by memorizing The Living Christ.

For math we continue memorizing our fraction and decimal equivalents.

1/6 = 0.16
5/6 = 0.83
1/8 = 0.125
3/8 = 0.375
5/8 = 0.625
7/8 = 0.875
1/16 = 0.0625
3/16 = 0.1875
1/32 = 0.03125

We also continue working on A Grammar Catechism
by Andrew A. Campbell.

What are you memorizing this week?

Do you have any tips that have helped with memorization in your home?

Be sure to link-up to your memory time work and tips.

  1. What a wonderful endeavor to have the memorization done for Christmas!

That has inspired me. I have always loved "One Solitary Life." Perhaps I will set out to have my crew memorize that. I looked forward every year hearing it read during the live Nativity at the end of the Christmas Spectacular when I was a kid.

    Many blessings,
    Lisa
